This will be a balanced experience of lecture and movement so please wear yoga appropriate clothing and bring your mat if you would like (we have loaners.)

***No previous yoga experience necessary.

Although we will be covering a lot, there is no need to feel anxious about this 3 hour commitment. We will move at a relaxed pace with plenty of space provided for breaks and questions and even snacks! Bring your own if you like and some will be provided as well.

POP UP Yoga: Free Ya’self Free Flow

Join Julia for a hip hip celebration of the divine feminine and intuitive movement!

FreeFlow is an upbeat Vinyasa Flow style class meant to help you lose inhibitions and step into your power! We start with a warm-up series together, are lead through 1-2 Surya Namaskar A’s together, then the first free flow is yours: lights down, music up! Flow through your Sun A’s or add in any other warm-up postures you need to support your practice. After we’re warm, we will move through a series of postures, “ladder-style” build-up, until we go through the entire sequence about 2-3 times together. After that, the flow is yours. Lights go down, music up, either choose to continue to flow through the sequence, add-on, take-out, make the practice your own form of self-expression. We then take some yin-style poses together in order to cool, and a deep, blissful Savasana ends the class.

Steadiness and Ease: Downward Facing Dog

Focusing on a single pose, this workshop is designed to build confidence, steadiness and ease in Downward Facing Dog. Taking this cornerstone of yoga asana (asana=posture), we’ll deconstruct down dog, identify areas of resistance and find ways to prepare specific body parts through movement, postures and/or use of props. Each student will receive individual instruction and assistance to find and refine the best Down Dog for their body while gaining a fuller understanding of alignment to support the pose. Whether you are unaccustomed to supporting body weight with the arms, in healing mode, looking for modifications or simply want to find comfort and endurance in Downward Facing Dog, this workshop is custom made for you! Because Marti will be offering one on one instruction during this workshop, the program length is flexible to allow all material to be covered. Students should plan on a minimum of 45 minutes to a maximum of 75 minutes depending on attendance. There will be plenty of rest and recovery time so new practitioners can register with confidence. If you’d like before and after photos, bring your smart phone to record your progress.

Cost: $20.00 advance/ $25.00 day of event Appropriate for beginners!
